RAIN System Technical and Organizational Features
The purpose of this chart is to show the broad technical span of the RAIN System-- all of the
many technologies that combine to form this capability. It appears in the technical presentation
and is repeated here for convenience (no username/password required).
|
- Colored bars at the bottom show the many technologies involved in the system.
- The boxes in the figure show the major subsystems and project activities.
- Within each box colored bars show which technologies are involved in each subsystem.
- Depicted in the center is a central coordinating function that manages overall project planning
and scheduling, keeps the master plan, enforces proper documentation configuration control
and many other services needed to link all of the components together.
- Some of the boxes involve Research and Development (R&D) activities rather than
technologies, as shown.
This technical breadth has major implications for the R&D project's organizational structure
and for organizations that will manufacture, market and maintain the system.
This is the segue into the next page addressing the
FITERAD organization.
