Progress is reported below in several categories.

Organizational

The business briefing ("about us") identifies two corporations, FITECO and FITERAD, and describes their roles in the development, manufacturing and marketing of the RAIN System. The following organizational steps have been taken with respect to these corporations--

  • Both corporations have been formed in Delaware and properly started, with the organizational meetings conducted, bylaws adopted, registration with IRS and other sundry tasks associated with corporate starts.
  • General administrative tasks have been completed, including establishment of bookkeeping systems and corporate Policies and Procedures.

Technical

Baseline concepts have been established for the RAIN subsystem designs and the delivery system basic performance parameters have been calculated. A System Design Report (SDR) has been published documenting the baselines and analyses.

Promotional

Promotional materials have been developed to support teambuilding and funding efforts.

  • "Artist's concepts" of major system components have been developed in 3D graphics.
  • A general-purpose brochure has been developed and printed for mailing or direct hand-out.
  • A "white paper" has been developed for use in proposal activities, that addresses the technical programmatical and business aspects of the project.
  • A slide presentation has been developed (many components of which are also published on this web site) defining the baselines and arguing for immediate development of the system.
  • This website has been developed and is ever being expanded as a major communication tool of this project.

Team-Building

As described in the business section of this website, plans call for the assembly of a consortium (aka virtual corporation or team) with "members" each contributing one or more key technologies to the project.

Members collectively "cover all of the bases" for development, manufacturing, marketing and support of the RAIN System.

  • Criteria have been established for candidate team members
  • A candidate list of existing businesses has been identified that evidently satisfy a reasonable number of criteria to qualify for this project
  • Contacting and briefing of potential members has begun and enthusiastic responses have been received. Discussions are continuing...

Approaching the Government

Several contacts have been made with potential support individuals within the Federal Government. These and other contacts (many provided by member companies) will be pursued, but not until the team has been "fleshed out" to a level providing powerful credibility in the eyes of the government. At that point we will pursue completion of the process of finding "champions" and getting support within the U.S. Government. It is anticipated that this effort will probably require the support of the general public through the media and then support from elected officials.
